What Is Format as Markdown?

When you enable "Format as Markdown" on a jot, Jottings processes your markdown syntax during the build and renders it as rich HTML on your published site.

Without markdown rendering:

This is **bold** and this is _italic_.

With markdown rendering: This is bold and this is italic.

The toggle gives you control on a per-jot basis. Some thoughts work better as plain text. Others benefit from structure and emphasis.

Supported Syntax

When markdown rendering is enabled, you can use:

Our Custom Markdown Parser
